We recently had a main filter installed in our home, so thj4e need for a filter on our Whirlpool Refrigerator GD5SHAXLQ02 seems redundant.
It's mentioned that many modern refrigerator will automatically bypass the filter if one is not installed. I was wondering if the model listed here has that feature or if I'll need to purchase a plug?

Z-Vap, the model provided does not need a filter bypass plug. Once the filter is removed, the filter housing will automatically engage the built-in bypass.
