I've got a GE fridge (GEPSW26SGPASS) that is working well overall, but recently the water dispenser has slowed to a trickle -- but that trickle turns back to full power if I give the filter bypass a couple twists.

I've already replaced the Water Inlet Valve (thanks for the parts and video, AppliancePartsPros!) and replaced my GE MWF filter with a newly purchased filter bypass. The first time I did this the water came out full steam and I thought it must have been the filter. But an hour or so later, the water was back to a trickle.

I took out the bypass, checked it to see if it was okay, then put it back in. Water back to full strength. Then a little while later, the water back to a trickle. I went in and gave the filter bypass a few twists, out and then back in, and magic presto full power again. But only temporarily.

What the heck?

It's almost like there's a problem with the valves (or something) there where the filter is? Is this a known thing? Any ideas for a more permanent solution?

Dave
