I have been given a top load Speed Queen washer under model number AWN432SP113TW04 and s/n 1602064066 for evaluation by a customer. The info I was given is that it was making a funny noise at times. I took off the front cover and found the belt was still usable but marginal. No balance springs were missing or broken. The styrofoam pad glued to the side of the sheet metal housing on the LH side was almost completely destroyed. This pad is in place to absorb unbalance of the tub. The RH side of the tub has been rubbing on the sheet metal slightly. The sealed balance ring on the top of the tub/wash basket did not show any sign of leakage at least that I could detect. When I ran a cycle with no clothing inside I noted that in the spin portion of the cycle there is a rthymic vibration of the wash basket/tub,not severe but a significant amount. With a load of heavy wet clothing present I suspect it gets worse. Does anyone have any experience with this model as regards the balance ring being too light in fluid or unable to withstand a load of heavy wet clothes without causing damage or severe vibration ?
