samsung rf28t5021 french door refigerator with the water pitcher on side door.

Water started tasting off so replaced with samsumg filter. Even after dumping about 6 pitchers of water the water still tastes like dirt/charcoal.

Did some of the old filter element break free and is in the line? The water flow is fine. My faucet (cold water line is split to feed ref.) has no taste to it so its not the house line.

Thoughts? If its something simple to replace (water line inside ref) Id rather not spend $5000 to repair it. Any links to diagrams/videos etc to see what to replace before I see if I can do myself would also be appreciated.
