I looked up all the suggestions and came to two -- control panel or bake element. The bake element is clearly gone -- blisters, etc -- fails the continuity test. Now, trying to decide about the control panel. Everything works -- clock, broiler control, second oven, timer. a failed relay would stay closed...right?. The failure mode was the oven not shutting off, but staying at a temp. If the control panel relay were welded, wouldn't it turn the bake element red hot? I plan to test with a voltmeter on the element leads, switching the element on and off with the control panel. If that works, can I assume the control panel is good?
