The fridge warmed up, compressor was clicking, so we replaced the relay switch. Worked great for 2 months, but just started doing it again. Did we get a bad relay switch or is the compressor bad? It is only 2 1/2 years old! How frustrating. How do we check to see if it is the relay or the compressor?
THANK YOU SO MUCH in advance!!!!! Rebecca:confused:

Note it does give the winding resistances for the compressor.
Check the winding's for resistances. Also check them to the compressor case scratch off some paint if you have to, though often there is a ground strap.

Here are a couple good links on how to check it.

sounds like the wrong relay and whoops ruined the comp. possibly, but maybe not. try a 3 in 1 hard start kit

A 3n 1 start kit will burn out a modern fractional HP compressor and/ or burn out the adaptive defrost pc board. A 3n 1 can only be used on the older 1/4-HP or higher compressors.
Use the original factory start device and install a 1000 joule surge protector in the wall outlet. Make sure the surge protector is made for appliances including refrigerators.
If your compressor will not start up with the factory start device, you have a bad compressor.
