I was given this older model Speed Queen electric dryer with the problem of not shutting off at the end of the timed cycle. Checking the obvious things it appears that the timer is bad . In checking various sources the machine is very old and no parts are available . Can anyone tell me if there is a more current P/N timer that would fit and work for this very old machine ? It is very clean and heats and runs very well otherwise.

I found a working timer in my junk box from an older Maytag unit that works but runs the timer dial in the opposite direction of rotation. Kind of interesting but it does work to provide heat. I may make a new dial with appropriate numbers for minutes of time for the timed dry so it makes sense. If all else fails I will buy one such as listed on E Bay

I like to make things work especially where a new part is no longer available.
