We have a GE GTWN4250D1WS that requires 2 or 3 spins before clothes are wrung out enough to dry.

The suspension on it was fairly bad and it had a couple of the rubber shock straps broken and I thought that might be preventing it from reaching full spin speed.

I replaced the straps, and replaced the suspension rods - which did make it more stable and easier to balance. But the spin issue remains.

Additionally I replaced the belt (I split the belt for a small section parallel to the ribs while getting it on, but its still plenty tight and since the problem existed prior to belt change I dont think thats it)

I put a digital tach on it and the drum appears to spin at about 450 rpm. I read somewhere that spin speed on these machines should be abt 750 RPM.

Can anyone confirm this? Can anyone provide any suggestions as to the issue? There has to be as spin speed control somewhere since the spin starts slow and speeds up, but I cant find anything about it.

After all Ive already put into it, I dont want to just slam a motor/inverter in it on a guess.

I also have a "spin slowly" problem but the system erased my lengthy reply. I am proceeding slowly.

The motor in my washer has a 4-pin C4 connector but only uses 3 pins. The colors are red, yellow, and blue. The service manual I ordered for the gwnt4250M1ws washer is a 2006 edition. That was the first year for the GE Hydro Wave washer. Their C4 connector is a 5-pin connector which uses all 5 pins. The four voltages are supposed to be 9 vdc for that connector when the washer is in the field service, spin mode. That is position 9 on the selector dial. The instructions for testing the condition of the spin voltages on the 2006 model are on page 39 of the Oct. 2006 technical service manual. My washer read ~0.35 volts, 6.45 volts, and 6.45 volts from left to right on the main circuit board. However, I don't know what voltages the 3 pins should have since the 2006 service manual does not match with my washer. It was more difficult to measure them at the C4 connector so I measured on the control board. I had to back probe each of the 3 measurements.
