Hello! I've got a GE JB258RM1SS electric range. It's about 4 years old. The oven has been giving me challenges. First, I live at altitude and have been tinkering with baking modifications to work here.

Then, I noticed my oven is way off. A couple things. 1.) I set the thermometer to 370° to warm up. The oven dings to indicate it's reached temperature. It hasn't. Actual temperature was 308°. Before it reached 370, it started dropping. The temperature swing is generally over 35°, most of that time set below actual desired temperature.

I've replaced the oven temperature sensor...maybe helped a little. When I contact GE customer support, they tell me that a swing of 30-35° is normal! Hard to believe and i've had technicians tell me it is not normal.

Now, I'm wondering if this sort of swing on a single element oven is the best I can do?

Any suggestions on what I can do or check? Thank You!
