I decided to replace our old A/C compressor because it's loud, inefficient, and uses R22 refrigerant.

The dealer did his "you might as well" also replace the 1987-era Payne furnace.

He likes Lennox. I read that Lennox uses proprietary parts and have a hum when not working.

The question for all you appliance pros: What brand condenser and furnace is going to give me the least trouble over the next 10 years?
