The front retaining spring on my Maytag MHW6000XW2 came loose during a wash and the boot came partly off.

I was able to get the spring back on. So far it's survived a rinse cycle.

Is this likely to recur? Should I have spare parts on hand?

The machine is 10 years old. I heard it banging around during the wash, which is unusual, but I don't know if that was a cause of the spring coming off, a result of it, or unrelated.

Thanks for any advice.
