I contacted AAP tech support department and was advised to purchase certain control board. After installation the symptoms are identical. The interior lights stay on for 15 minutes after power reconnection then go out and stay off unless you unplug and reconnect. Then it does the exact same thing, frig cools well just no interior lights which is annoying.

I would check the door switch(s) for continuity next. There also is a little door switch on the ice maker door that will do similar so check it also.
