We bought our dryer new and have had it for 2 1/2 years. 13 months ago we had to replace the heating element and the element is broken again (2 weeks after the warranty ran out--go figure). I am wondering if there could be another problem with the dryer that is causing the heating element to go out. thanks

I would make sure the exhaust vent hose/tube is clear of any and all lint buildup, sand, socks, etc from the rear of the dryer all the way to the exhaust port exiting the house to outside... Another symptom is worn drum seals allowing reduced airflow across the heating element making it run hotter altho this would be an unusual problem with a dryer that's not very old... Other issues would factor in, amount of time dryer is used, what types of items dried, etc....
