Newbie here!

I have a two year old Maytag MVW6200K toploading washing machine and out of no where the play/pause button no longer starts the washer. Also, when I rotate the cycle knob to different settings, the lights of each setting to the right (cold, mild, hot water, heavy load, etc.) do not change.

When I hold the play button down the lights act as if it is going through the motions to start only to never kick into locking the lid and starting the water.

It seems to me that the cycle knob isn't communicating. I have pulled the control panel off and everything appears to be in good condition (no corrosion or broken wires).

Any suggestions??
