Hi all
Any advice on the following?
UK model Whirlpool (badged as Ultimate Care II but is identical to Maytag and many others other than 240V motor).
Recently no spin sometimes due to clutch being worn. Replaced clutch. Now when spin cycle starts there's a grinding noise - not continuous sounds like something wearing/striking something else as the drum revolves. This starts fairly fast but then slows down as the drum speeds up until it stops making any sound once the drum is up to speed.

My thoughts were clutch or brake shoes - I've just pulled the transmission/motor off and nothing looks out of place or worn or damaged but, once reassembled - same problem as before.

Any suggestions? I'm still thinking clutch if anybody can point me?
Thanks
Graeme
