I can’t put my finger on what the problem could be.
When I power on the dishwasher, everything works fine (can select program, starts, completes, dishes are clean, fills and drain just fine).
After that first cycle completes, the second program will not start. I have to power it off and back on.
There is no digital display, so I can’t see any error code.

Any idea what this could be coming from?
I was reading that it is possible that the heat pump or the drain pump could be using too much current which would yield to a detected error? No idea how to verify that (or disprove it).
