This is REVERSE problem of your sticky post.

I am using a WIFI thermometer to monitor the freezer and fridge sections of my Samsung RF26J7500SR french door refrigerator about 4 years old.. The fridge section is fine. Maintains +-3 from setting but the freezer section suddenly is varying 25-30 degrees 2-3x a day. The device I use to monitor sends email notifications when temp varies widely. and also creates a history graph. It suddenly goes up to around +17 then down to -6 (set for -2). The fridge stays right on temp. This happens multiple times of the day usually about 6-8hours apart. The freezer seals look fine.

Example: 11PM last night went from -6 to +17, then at 6AM this morning went from -3 to +13 and just now at 4:30PM went from -5 to +17. NO, it hadn't been opened at all.

Any idea on what to look at ?? Fridge section is no problems at all.

Thanks

My guess, you're seeing the temperature change that occurs during defrost. In the old days the defrost timers were mechanical. Defrost happened ever 6 or 8 or 12 hours depending on the refrigerator. Now days the defrost controls are adaptive electronic and they defrost by sensor. Sounds like your refrigerator is averaging 3 defrosts a day.

Well, in the 18months I had the (WiFI) temp sensors to monitor installed inside the freezer and fridge it has never happened. Just started a few weeks ago. It's only the freezer section, the fridge is stable. That's a pretty high change. Always up to 16 or 17 degrees from minus 2 to 4. The temps are quite accurate because I have compared them to plain freezer thermometer.
