I recently replaced the Pump and Motor and Sump assembly (part #5 on this link) because there was a leak, and I figured with the age of the unit it would be good to replace the pump, diverter and sump as well.

After confirming the leak was repaired, I noticed a different problem: the middle and upper spray arms only give a very weak flow of water, not enough to spin them. the lower sprayer is working fine, it sprays and spins vigorously.

I hadn't noticed this issue before so I went back to the original parts and saw the same behavior.

What I checked:
a) the diverter appears to go to the correct position for upper spraying when it should.
b) there is no clog in the upper arm manifold as far as I can tell
c) the upper and middle arms spin very easily and nothing obstructs the motion
d) the back of the upper arm manifold has two entry holes to allow the upper rack to be installed at different heights. Each hole has a one-way flapper to prevent the water from leaking out hole #2 when hole #1 is engaged. The flappers appear to work correctly.
e) filters are clean

what else is there to check? the above things to check are the only remedies I have found online or could think of.
