Hi all. I've a Maytag commercial coin op gas dryer MDG16CSBWW. It's approximately 12 years old (I'm guessing). Very simple machine, one knob with low/med/high settings. I've replaced the igniter and gas coils a few years ago.
Lately my tenants have said that it doesn't dry as well as it used to. Clothes are still damp after a cycle with usual setting/load. I've observed it and temps are between 130 and 170, dry time is 53 minutes, and hot air flow is very good. Granted, I haven't watched an entire cycle, so I don't know if it's cycling hot/cold but what I saw was totally normal.
Should I just throw a cycling thermostat at it? The OEM is not available any longer but crosses to an adjustable one, part 694674.
Thanks so much!
