It is hit and miss as to whether my clothes finish drying. Last night I did a load and the clothes came out dry. This morning I did another load of towels and it lost heat after about 20 minutes and did not fi is drying. Could you please point me in the direction as to what to look at.

Have you checked your dryer vent for lint build up? I use my shop vac in the blower mode push the hose into the lint trap then turn the dryer and vac on.
I see the lint on the ground under the outside vent.
