Probably closer to 5+ Years. Ignites when first turned on, then ignites intermittantly throughout 75 minute cycle. Clothes still damp. I can fool with the they dial which now does not move during drytime and the dryer stays on until I open the door to shut it off. Can fool with the dial to get it to light (sometimes). Help?

PS: Rather urgent. I have three children and LOTS of laundry!

Most likely the problem with your dryer caused by the coils on the gas valve.

- The part number for the set of coils is AP3094251

Here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid dryer Model KGYS700JQ0.

I was having the same trouble dryer not Lighting and I was reading here and I found out it was the Coils I replaced them and it worked fine thanks for the help. BTW mine was a Whirlpool dryer but it was the same thing. and I am not a repairman and it only took 20 min to do.:D
