After recently replacing the control panel (part #AP6009805), the fan would remain running for hours after it cooled off, and would turn on and run whenever there was power to the oven. I went to replace the temp sensor (part AP4009456) and discovered that there had been a thermal event in the back of my oven. The plastic connector was a melted lump. I spliced a new connector to what remained of the wires, and installed my new temp sensor. Now if I set the oven to 350 it will heat up to about 220, the fan will come on and it will beep and display 350 as if it had reached the set temp even though it has not. The fan will continue to run until I disconnect power, but does not come on when power is returned.

Is it possible that I have crossed the wires when I spliced in the new connector? Is it a bad temp sensor? What are your thoughts/ideas?
