Thanks: 2 times
I’m having an intermittent problem on initial startup. The oven will successfully ignite on the first attempt, but will continue to click 3 more times and then the gas valve will shut off.

I have replaced the electrode/ignitor, temperature sensor, and thermal fuse. The electrode was definitely well-worn/damaged before I replaced it,

Sometimes it works on the first attempt, sometimes it takes many attempts to stay lit. Once the oven is going, it seems to have no problem relighting and staying lit to keep temperature so it's really an issue on initial startup only. Broil appears to work fine even when oven won't work.

I am thinking to try the spark module next as this is DSI and I’ve read the flame safety circuit is part of the spark module. But it's an expensive part. I also read about other, not quite the same problems, where it was mentioned possible grounding issues or a pinched wire. Any ideas for where to focus efforts next? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the leads, much appreciated. I’m reading them now.

I checked the receptacle, all good there. I also cleaned the screw holding the burner tube and ignitor. It wasn’t bad but much cleaner now. No change though. I haven’t run an extra grounding wire yet, but that seems promising as it worked for someone in one of the other posts too.

I cleaned all the mating surfaces where the bake igniter/electrode mounts as well as the screws. Found a piece of scrap 12AWG wire and ran the extra grounding wire. I’ve just tested it out a handful of times and it’s staying lit every time… Fingers crossed this was it, that would be awesome. Thanks again for the guidance.

Still going strong today.. lights on the first spark and stays lit every time. It’s been driving me crazy for a while, so this is a huge relief! Never would have figured out about the grounding solution without the help, and the flame rectification concept was interesting to read about. I was wondering how it worked without a flame sensor.
