we bought our American style fridge freezer January 2020. It stated off as a loud pop and was over so quick I couldnt discover where it was coming from as it was intermitent. I eventually discovered it was the fridge freezer and the noise now was like a small explosion, a hand granadge going off like you hear in a war film. It is worse at night. I have 2 nurological conditions and being kept awake at night then so over tiered I cannot sleep I now have sleep deprevation which has impacted on my health. The noise is there in the day but not as bad as at night when the major cooling happens. I have contacted Samsung many times since June and constanly told it is normal. The currys pc world tecnition said it could be the canisters so I went back to Samasung who agreed to send an engineer from Domestic Applience Repairs ltd. He said it was the canisters and was normal, he heard a loud pop (not the bang. I was told he would leave my file open and if I stuck my ear to fridge and could identify which canister it was he would be able to swap out the canister. When I phoned DAS ltd my file was shut. A report was sent to samsung who said the report said "no fault found" which means I am liable for a £55 call out charge as no fault was found. Since June I have spoken to C/PC world tecnition, team know how,Samsung customer services more time than i care to count, their product specialist and their tecnical adviser who insists the noise is normal. The lack of sleep is effecting every part of my life. Thank you all so much for posting. I will be e-mailing samsung so I have a paper trail and seeking the CEOs email to paste him in. When the temp in the freezer is at -19 which the book recommends it runs at -21. Samsung said I have to put it at -15. The explosive sound is lowered to a pop.
