Similar to a recent message . . . just bought the home - bar fridge runs nearly all the time - its cold, but shouldn't run like that. Had a repair guy out - I suggested it seemed that it might be low on freon????? He said that it'd cost too much to break into the system to charge it - buy a new one! Unit is 10 years old. What's the right answer, or how do I find out?

Gene. I pulled it out and vacuumed the condenser, which was pretty dirty, but it still runs way too much. If turned up all the way (7), it cools down to about 43 degrees - running constantly. I turned it down to (5) and it runs at 60 degrees - still runs too much, even at that temp. What average temp should a fridge run at? It has an ice maker, which I haven't used yet.

Sounds like it is low on Freon. If it's about 10 years old - probably better to buy a new one.
Gene.
