Hello,
My Whirlpool French Door GZ25FSRXYY7 stopped making Ice.
I replaced the ice maker thermostat+ thermal grease, waited a day , no luck.
Replaced water inlet valve, no luck, even though I was getting water at the door already....
https://www.appliancepar...w10498990-ap6022336.html Now I know that the water pressure is not an issue.
I replaced the internal water filter in the refrigerator area, no luck.
Finally, I replaced the entire ice maker assembly, Part Number: AP6037857, still, no luck,
It's been 24 hours, still not hearing the usual noise where water should be filling the trays.
Freezer temp (setting) is low enough(0). All is level, had been working for 8 years, then suddenly , stopped working. I saw some corrosion on the end of the motor that drives the ice maker, where the copper contacts were, looked like some overheating\corrosion took place some time a few months ago....
The ice maker on /off bar sensor is in the down/on position. I also thawed the water inlet hose to the ice maker with a hair dryer.
Also, I placed copper jumper between the V and L leads on the new ice maker..so..I placed an insulated copper jumper between V and L, and no water comes into the ice maker with the door switch taped down.
When I placed the jumper on leads H and T, the ice maker does not cycle at all, though I can hear the rear ice maker assembly fan running.
Please let me know what else I can try , and how to do it. I am handy with a DVM if anything I can check there. I can hear the ice maker assembly getting power\ the rear fan spins (the new unit).
****UPDATE*****
Now appears to be the control board. I located a burnt trace on the board leading to the pin that powers the ice maker power wire. Attempting to repair with solder iron***
Thank you,
George
