GE Side-by-Side Refrigerator, GSHF6HGDBCWW, and about a week ago, the fan in the freezer stopped working, making the freezer and fridge side warmer. The freezer does freeze (at the bottom) but the fridge side only gets to about 50.

OK, so I ordered a replacement evaporator fan motor and replaced it after disassembling the entire freezer (not an easy cover to remove), but nothing. Fan still does not run.

Checked voltages to fans at control board and they were about 13.5V so that is good, but fan does not start.

Then I ordered a replacement control board (why not?). While waiting for arrival, I tested the 4 temperature sensors using my multimeter and they check out OK (using a chart I found online that correlates expected ohm readings to temp).

Just replaced the control board this morning, and sadly, evap fan still is not running.

This is crazy! What am I missing?

My next step is to take freezer apart again and have evap fan plugged in to see if there is obstruction or what? It's very hard to access evap fan with the evap fan cover assy installed.

Any help would be appreciated.

UPDATE: I decided to take the freezer apart again except the evap fan assy. Turns out the harness connector of the evap fan was not making good connection even though it appeared to be fully pushed together. I squeezed it, and the fan came on! So I disconnected and reconnected, and fan now comes on normally! I did connect the original fan motor and it does not start, so the motor was bad. The control board is probably not the issue, but might keep the new one just so I have a spare.
