I was changing the water filter and I apparently snapped a clip inside the housing that opens/closes the valve to the filter.

I have shut off (in theory) the supply valve ext the fridge. But the valve is a 15yo install from when the fridge went in and it hasn't been touched since. It does feel rather tight and I suspect that it isn't closed. I plane to change to a ball.

But we are still experiencing a more than drip leak, not a flood, but a steady flow.
It appears to be coming from the housing onto the metal frame to the left of the housing as you face the fridge.

Is it possible that there is still water in the system that is draining down?
It seems a lot, so I am suspect of the ext shut off valve.

Further, if I activate the water switch on the freezer door, slow flow starts in the housing.
I'd think that would also point to the ext valve not being fully shut off.
