I got a used Frigidaire washer on Facebook, but when I got it home and installed, it showed no signs of life. I have traced power from the outlet to the timer module, and verified that it is hot at the module, but no power leaves the module at any point that I turn the dial to.

I opened up the timer module, and found the main power switch; the cam to close the switch is high in all but a few places (the "off" points on the dial). However, when the cam is raised, the switch doesn't close. There is a visible gap between the top and bottom contacts. The top contact is resting on a plastic piece that slides up and down in the module housing, as if lifting the plastic piece was meant to cut power and keep the switch from closing. But the black plastic piece doesn't slide down far enough to close the switch.

I'm confused because the black plastic piece looks like a deliberate part of the design. It seems as though something is out of position, but everything is pretty fixed in place.

Has anyone seen this before, or know what I'm describing?
