I recently purchased a new element for the grill because one side of the old one did not heat appropriately. I assumed it was going bad. I installed the new one and it does not heat correctly.

the grill element not tied to the one I selected heats up and the fan is very low. If I physically turn on the fan the correct grill element heats up and the unselected one one stays on as well. If I turn fan off, the selected grill elements goes off again and the wrong element stays lit.

I replaced the burner switch to turn on the selected grill element but it still not working
