Thanks: 1 times
Like many people, I have an extra refrigerator in my basement. This one is an Amana (pre-Whirlpool) top freezer, about 18 cu ft. It's for overflow food and I keep my extra insulin in there.

The other day I went for some insulin and the vial that I took out had frozen solid. Not good. Fortunately, the next one was fine. That got me wondering how cold my fridge was so I bought a couple refrigerator thermometers off Amazon. They indicate the current temp and show the high and low temps since the last time it was cleared.

So at the get go, the thermometer was telling me that the fridge was 25 F. So I bumped the thermostat up. The temp the next day was a little higher. I kept bumping the temp up each day and it's at its highest setting. The temp in the fridge is only 30.

Any ideas what would be causing this? Usually people are complaining that fridges are too warm.

Thanks. You guys helped me with an old fridge and my washer. I had to created a new account because I can't remember my old user name.
