The factory-installed trim/frame for my 2010 GE cooktop (Model PP989SNSS) has separated from the top. Product installation does not show this as a separate piece. Neither the trim nor the glasstop is damaged. The trim has popped off from one corner where it wasa stuck to the glass and needs to be glued back. The appliance is working fine.

The support person with GE Appliance recommended the I purchase Range Foam Tape (Part # WB02X26088) which I have. However the manual shows that being used on the underside of the cooktop and not to glue the trim to the glass on top of the cooktop.

It looks like its stuck with some double sided foam tape. Will any type of tape work or do you need heat resistant tape?

Has anyone had a similar experience and managed to glue the trim back? Please share any guidance you can provide. Thanks in advance for any help.

I've got the same issue.
I've found a lot of over the top answers, to what seems to me shouldn't be that complicated.

I've decided to use common sense, and buy a glue, or silicone, that can bond to glass and metal, plus be exposed to high temperatures.
I'm going to call Home Depot, and Lowe's, and ask what they recommend.

I think I can figure it out from there, without spending $40, or wasting hours preparing the surfaces.
