Fridge Model: Kenmore Coldspot 106.51123210 Background: The fridge came with the house when we purchased it about 7 months ago. The manual says it was originally purchased back in 2012 but it has been kept clean and in good shape. It never makes noise, however, it has always made a clicking noise while dispensing water. The clicking noise has never been an issue as the water pressure has always been fine and the ice and water always tasted fine. We replaced the filter about a two months ago and it worked just fine till now. Symptoms:
- While dispensing water, the clicking noise now is intermittent. Sometimes it clicks and sometimes it doesn't click.
- Water and Ice now have a plastic/stagnant taste.
- We've replaced the water filter twice for different brands but the issue is still present.
- Here is a link to a video showing the behavior: Video of Water Dispenser Issue
- The water line behind the fridge is plastic, however, the taste issue did not start happening till the clicking noise started to become intermittent.
Could the problem be a faulty water valve or maybe the water reservoir? I'm also wondering where the clicking noise is coming from and why is it now intermittent? Edited by user Thursday, January 28, 2021 8:50:20 PM(UTC)
