Every month or so, my freezer only gets warm (from 0 to 20 degrees - it shows the temperature). A day or two later, it's normal. I started adjusting changing the temperature to see if that helps it, and maybe that helps it get back to normal. This site said that the temperature sensors may be the problem, but it seems to know the temperature pretty accurately (at least for the display). I opened up the back, vacuumed/cleaned up dust, but everything looked fine/dry. The fan looked like it's fine. Going to open up the inside of the freezer as I believe there are more coils per https://www.geappliancep...22SISBSS/2/0/0/0/CABINET from the inside? Hard to tell from the diagram. If anyone has debugging steps to help me understand the part that's broken, that'd be awesome! The fridge is old but working great otherwise, and seems a shame to scrap it unnecessarily.

Does any of the food thaw out? Does it get warmer than 20 degrees? Are you sure its not just going through its normal defrost cycle? How long does this temp. increase last? 25 to 40 minutes? I'll bet the compressor and fans are off at the time too.
