Our normally quiet dw started making loud sucking/gurgling noises near the vent on the top left side of the dw door. It does this every cycle during a wash. It's about 3-4 years old.

The most recent change was a run with vinegar about the time we noticed the sound.

The volume and sound characteristics change when I push the door corner in, like it's a gap in the seal, but I can't tell if its coming from a gap (no water or vapor coming out) or if it's inside the door having to do with the vent.

What's the vent for?

Thoughts on the cause of the noise? Did the vinegar dislodge something and clog something else?
