Hi,

I have a Frigidaire PLFU1778ES2 Upright Deep Freezer.

It works OK but during auto defrost the melted water drip down into the drain channel at the back on the bottom, it freezes right there instead of flowing down the drain. I have cleaned out the drain channel all the way to the underneath of the freezer. As I watch from day to day the dripped water freezes in the drain channel before even reaching the drain hole.

I thought the freezer may be too cold, but checked with thermometer, it maintains itself around 0 F, give a take a few degrees. I had a Defrost timer laying around, I replaced it, but it did not change anything.

I am thinking, is it the defrost thermostat or the defrost heater assembly, or what. The freezer is full and not easy to empty and take the cover off the evaporator coil area, unless I know what I need and I have it in hand to replace quick and come out.

Please help me sort this out.

Thanks

Matt
