Hey all, I have an old Kenmore 70series HD washer. It's been spinning while still full at the start of the drain cycle. I bought a neutral drain kit & put it in today. New plate (picked the one that matched mine), spin gear, & 3 cams. I'm trying to test it out on the bench with a drill before I reassemble, but can't see it go into neutral.

My understanding is that it works like this: in agitate mode the cams will get set for neutral. Stop the motor. Start in opposite direction and it should not spin the basket. Stop again. Turn on power again and it should start to spin. Is that correct?

When I do it on the bench and do agitate, then stop, then reverse, the basket engages right away. As I said, I'm using a drill, should that be enough speed to test all phases?

Thanks!
