Maytag Bravos gas dryer model MGDB755DW3

Putting a load in on medium heat both normal and delicate settings and the cycle doesn't finish but the dryer stops with time left and won't restart until after the dryer has cooled down. Running on delicate does seem to get the clothes dryer than running on normal. I'm assuming it is overheating but maybe that is a poor assumption.

Things I have tried:
1. Made sure the vent was clean and clear
2. Confirmed thermistor has correct resistance
3. Replaced the high limit thermostat

None of these changes has made any difference and I'm trying to figure out what potentially I should check next. Thanks in advance for the help.
