Hi all...I hope everyone is hanging in there.

I have a 10 year old GE front load gas dryer with control panel right above the door. It's been a great machine. However, I've noticed intermittent mechanical noise from the dryer. There can we a ticking sound coming from the front of the drum and I've heard a mechanical "chafing" sound from the rear of the dryer. Both sounds happen after it's warmed up and is 20 minutes into the cycle or so. It doesn't do this for all loads.

Can someone advise me on the typical parts that may be wearing out? I have access to the service manual and am ready to disassemble the machine and tune it up. We've had the machine for 10 years and do about 2 loads a week, if that.

I'd be good with cleaning it and replacing anything that typically wears out while I've got the machine taken apart.

Thanks so much.

Jim
