Model EIDW5905JS0A. Ready to replace switch assembly under the float. But confused. Thought the switch would move up & down along with the float. But discovered the switch on the current model is static (no movement), and the float just snaps on the top of the switch. How does the switch and float assembly work if no switch?

Already checked drain pipe for kinks and cleared garage disposal and p-trap.
