I know the element was bad as the metal band was open in one spot. Now that I replaced the burner the hot indicator light comes on, but the element does not get hot. The other burners the only time the hot indicator light comes on is after you turn the switch off. Stove manufacture is a Whirlpool Inperial Series Model RF199LXKT 1 Serial # RM5110308
