My refrigerator recently stopped cooling. After doing some reading I determined it might be the evaporator coils. I did some disassembly and found the coils for the refrigerator compartment were frozen. The coils in the freezer compartment are fine. Everything I read talks about defrost issues but those all seem related to the coils in the freezer. From what I'm finding, there is no defrost assembly in the refrigerator compartment, only the freezer compartment (and that one appears to be working fine). There does appear to be a copper wire that runs from the end of the heating assembly in the freezer to the beginning of the coils in the refrigerator but I am not sure what it does. I am at a loss as to why the coils are frozen. Any help would be great.

Locate the refrigerator power cord on the back of the appliance.
Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet. ...
Turn both the fridge and freezer controls to "Off" or "0" inside the fridge. ...
Adjust the fridge and freezer controls to the desired setting. ...
Allow the fridge up to one day to adjust to a stable temperature.
