GE Range, Model# BP82S0H2SS Started getting “F2” and “F3” error codes. After some research, found that the Temp Sensor needed to be replaced. Was told this to be a very common problem. Upon replacing the part, it seemed to be working fine. Was able to complete a cleaning cycle with no problem. Also since the replacement, I have used the oven for baking 2 or 3 times. Again, no problem. Unfortunately, today I needed to use it, so I set it to start preheating to 425 and that’s when it all went south. The oven temperature had only reached 215 degrees when I noticed all the smoke filling up inside and some outside the oven. Was shocked by the amount of smoke.
When the smoke cleared enough, I was able see where the smoke was coming from; the Temp Sensor AGAIN. I removed the backplate and saw that the condition of this sensor was exactly the same as before replacing it. The hose coming out of it is burned and the insulation around the sensor in the back almost caught on fire. It had started melting around the edges.
I NEED HELP DESPERATELY! With Thanksgiving only 3 days away, a 26 lb. turkey thawing in the refrigerator and a minimum of 12 people coming over with empty bellies, ready to eat, I’m at a loss. HAS ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS? I would sooo appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks, CatM58
