Frigidaire Gallery Model fghs2631pf4a with ice maker and digital display.
A couple of months ago the front display looked defective and would show odd characters for the temps. Half a zero, something that looked like a q and d, etc. Then the fridge started freezing food.
I replace the display so it appears to look normal. I also replaced the Temp Sensor in the fridge side but I am still having an issue. The temps are set to:
Freezer = 0 Fridge = 45 (i know. to high)
Every now and then the temperature on the displays say the freezer temp is going a little crazy and I might all of a sudden see the Freezer show -17 but I check 20 min later and it says 0 again. I have a digital thermometer in the freezer and it appears to be staying close to 0. The digital display for the fridge show the temp I have it set, but it varies like crazy inside. It is set for 45 (too high), but can go to 28 to 40 degrees and the display still always says 45.
The compressor does not seem to be running a whole lot. Sometimes it is on, but most of the time it is not. The fridge does not freeze food "every" day. It is pretty random and it also freezes food in the most random places in the fridge and it is not due to the type of food with different freezing points. I have 12 oz bottles of water all over the fridge and sometimes they freeze in random parts of the fridge. I find that to be the most crazy part.
Fridge and freezer are not crammed with food and they are pretty neatly organized.
