Suddenly the washer went through all its cycles but failed to drain out the water. Here is what I have done in the way of testing:

1. Removed filter, chopper cover, flap valve, cleaned it all out and found nothing there.
2. Measured resistivity of drain pump motor at at about 40 ohms.
3. Pressing the "drain" button results in the chopper turning but no pumping action.
4. Applying 110 V directly to the pump motor terminals results in the chopper turning but no draining.
5. Pushing the "drain" button results in about 97 V appearing at the pump terminal (with the pump disconnected.

Question: What powers the chopper and why does it turn on with power applied to the drain pump? Are the chopper and drain pump mechanically connected? If so, why does the chopper work but not the pump.

Any ideas on the problem?

Thanks.
