This is a bottom drawer freezer GE gds18scralss. Mechanical defrost timer replaced. Thermostat temperature control replaced. Unit will run fine for several days then the Fridge will warm and the evaporator fan is not on. No icing noted in Freezer section.

Owner turned off Thermostat temperature control for a couple of minutes then turned back on and everything started running normally. Advancing the Defrost Timer does not seem to change anything.

There are no circuit boards on this model. I can only think of three things.

1 The Defrost Thermostat. Not sure why this would keep the evaporator fan from turning back on sending cold air to the Fridge section.

2. The Evaporator Fan. Not sure why it would work intermittently.

3. New Defrost Timer is faulty.

Any ideas before I take the Evaporator cover off?

Dave
