I have a Maytag MDB8959AWB5 dishwasher that is now probably 8 or 9 years old. So far I've had to replace the impeller and drive, I replaced the heating element seals at the same time, but now it's been leaking from the front right corner - I determined that it's coming from the float switch. I took it apart (breaking the 'doughnut' retainer off the bottom of the float in the process) and found all kinds of gross gunk wedged up in there. I cleaned it all out, glued the float back together and put the whole thing back together, and then for a few cycles, it didn't leak, so I figured for some reason, the leaking had something to do with all the crud up under the float. Then it started leaking again. I've seen people replacing the entire float switch assembly, which seems excessive - the only thing I can see that could really go wrong with that causing a leak would be the gasket, although it seemed to be in good shape when I had the float out.

Is there anything else that I might be missing that it could be other than the ($22) gasket?

Edit: I thought I had seen the gasket and that it looked good, but apparently I was thinking of something else. I just took the float switch assembly out and inspected the gasket and it's in perfect condition. Put it back together so we'll see if it leaks again.
