Hello,

Regarding the Whirlpool Electric Double Oven Induction Range MN# WGI925C0BS00.

Is there a fail safe to stop an uninformed user from performing the power boost function in both cook top zones simultaneously? The user guide indicates it shouldn't be done. In such an event what is suppose to happen? Is the function meant to be defeated or does it cause damage to the appliance?

Well, yes, someone did this with ours. Apparently there was a popping sound with, I think he said there was broken glass like sound too, and the stove went dark. No response electronically.

One of thermo safety switches was removed from the back. 1 of 2 I believe, seemed compromised. This might have been where he said the broken glass sound came in, that shaking it sounds like broken glass. It is small, about size of golf ball with connectors.

Anyway, does a blown safety switch cause the whole oven/stove console to go dark?

Hopefully the fix is a simple safety switch replacement and not the control board too.

Thanks very much for any insight that can be offered,

Happy 2019,
Laura
