 The gas dryer will only run if I put a brick against the start button. Before this happened, the dryer did not dry the clothes thoroughly in the regular cycle as they came out damp. The permanent press cycle dryed the clothes.

Are these one and the same problem? What can I do to fix?

Most likely the problem caused by the control board which does not sense the start of the dryer. The control board is located inside the control panel.

- The part number for the control board is AP3604450
