Can anyone give me some direction on troubleshooting my problem?
Last night I noticed the ice cubes in my freezer thawing. Checked refrigerator side and it was not as cool as expected. Took off the lower back panel and cleaned the condenser coils. Problem not solved.
This morning I have a puddle of water on the floor, expect from the freezer thawing. Air is blowing in both freezer and refrigerator, its just not cold air. The compressor is humming, so appears to be working. Have not taken back panel off yet, guess thats my next move
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Here are your parts http://www.appliancepartspros.c...h.aspx?model=frs26h5asb3Here is the tech sheet http://manuals.frigidaire.com/p...f/Anderson/240389607.pdf Have not taken back panel off yet, guess thats my next move Yes, take a look at your evaporator coils. If there is just some frost in one area of the evap coils then you are probably low on freon. If there is no frost then you may be totally out of freon or the compressor is toast as the motor in the compressor sounds like it is running. Both the above repairs are not low cost as you need a pro to repair them. Also if it is a freon leak there is no use refilling it unless the leak is found and repaired. I would double check on the units age as the sealed system should have a 5 year warranty. Here is a good site with troubleshooting help http://www.applianceaid.com/frig.html |
